Porter | Groundskeeper
Amber Lantern is a vibrant and growing supervised living community with multiple homes throughout Texas. We’re looking for a talented porter | groundskeeper who will be responsible for the meticulous upkeep of the grounds, amenities, building exteriors, and other areas of our properties.
Responsibilities and Objectives
Remove trash and other debris from grounds
Assist in the preparation of the properties
Pressure wash exterior buildings, sidewalks, etc.
Assist with property emergencies, such as inclement weather emergencies, fires, and floods.
Address property maintenance concerns related to inclement weather conditions.
Promote customer satisfaction by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and curb appeal, and interact courteously and professionally with current and potential residents
Preserve and respect applicant and resident confidentiality.
Foster a positive, active and collaborative relationship with residents and associated agencies.
Clearly and immediately report any maintenance and/or life safety issues identified while performing regular assigned duties.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Ability to pass background check
Skills and Requirements
Ability to read, write and understand English.
Ability to use general office equipment.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Must maintain professional appearance and comply with prescribed uniform policy.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and current auto insurance is required.
Must comply with all safety requirements.
Scheduling
Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working overtime, weekends and non-traditional holidays.
May be required to be on-call and aid during staffing deficiencies on-site.
Environment
Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions (temperatures may vary depending on the weather in the different regions).
Exposure to noise, vibrations, atmospheric conditions, as well as working in confined or restricted spaces.
Potential exposure to chemicals, electrical shock, heights, mechanical parts or machines, and fire.
Ability to lift, push and pull up to 100 pounds.
Ability to walk around the property several times daily
Ability to walk on uneven surfaces.
Ability to climb several flights of stairs several times a daily.
Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency required.
Must be able to sit, stand, reach, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
Ability to use standard maintenance equipment.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; walk; use hands to finger; handle; reach with arms and hands; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. Must be able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds in order to assist in life skills. Specific vision abilities may include close vision; color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Exposure to outside weather conditions while working with residents. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
