When a faulty lighting fixture turned into a resident engagement event
Resident’s at Amber Lantern’s Brightwood House enjoyed a surprise enrichment activity last month during a routine house maintenance visit. An electrician was investigating a faulty lighting fixture when residents began to gather around. They became fascinated as he explained the problem to house management. Sensing the growing interest the electrician gave a mini-lecture on the basics of electricity and home lighting, which further captivated his impromptu audience.
This event helped to highlight a thirst for knowledge from Amber Lantern’s residents and demonstrated that sometimes small learning events can be very engaging. We will be looking for opportunities to provide similar experiences moving forward!
