Developing Independence

Supporting each resident’s personalized path to recovery and independence is a key element of our mission at Amber Lantern. Treatment program participants are encouraged to spend time out in the community beyond our houses developing their own interests, furthering their education, building careers, and spending time with family. We view these activities as important steps to living more fulfilling lives, and provide guidance to our residents on how to continue their behavioral health recovery process beyond our walls.

A few recent success stories include residents:

  • Finding jobs at local restaurants to earn an income and grow their skillsets.

  • Going back to school to earn a degree in radio and broadcasting.

  • Taking on a care giving role for elderly family members.

Each of these activities is a big step towards, recovery and eventually graduation from Amber Lantern’s programs. Nothing makes our happier than to watch residents return to independent and fulfilling lives.
